Mrs Allington's 2nd graders shared their pumpkin book reports with administrators and their 4th grade buddies. They decorated a pumpkin like one of the characters from the book. Great work!









4th grade had an in-class field trip! Loveland Living Planet Aquarium brought some creepy crawlers and some amazing knowledge for connections to Science structures, functions and environments.





Kindergarten went to Black Island Farms for their 1st field trip!



Buddies with Mrs. Loose's 2nd grade and Mrs. N. Carter's 4th grade students. 4th graders each drew a monster and wrote a descriptive essay, using careful details to explain how to draw and color their monster. 2nd grade buddies had to draw and color their partner’s monster without looking at the picture. They could only use the descriptive essay to guide them. Here are some of the results! 👻🎃




This week in Computer Prep with Mrs. Joos, students were able to practice their coding while navigating their robot around a corn maze! What a fun, festive way to use their coding skills.





Mrs. Campbell's class are celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month by researching a variety of people from Hispanic cultures and sharing their new knowledge with their classmates.





To celebrate Kindness Week, Island View's students participated in a book read with Hope squad, created posters with uplifting messages and played some team building games at recess. Important message, there is room for everyone under our umbrella of Island View Elementary!






4th grade visited the Great Salt Lake Shoreland on their first field trip. They explored plant and animals in the wetland environment while enjoying some sun and amazing views!





Mrs. Larsen and Mrs. Mageras’ class learned to be nimble like Jack in the Jack be Nimble nursery rhyme and how to put Humpty Dumpty back together again. Nursery Rhymes are a fun way to start Kindergarten.




Island View Pelicans love to have fun! Come join us. We have plenty of food and activities. One more hour!!





Mrs. Taylor's students are learning number partners for 10 and reviewing adding within 10. Keep up the hard work!




Science time in Mrs. Robinett's class where students identified structure and functions of once living specimen. Looking closely at spiders, scorpions, snakes and more!

Ms. Bankhead's class had an amazing Book Tasting event this week. Students sampled a variety of delicious books and got started on their 40 Books Reading Challenge.




Hope Squad and Student Council had their back to school retreat last week. Team building and learning their roles has never been so much fun! They are ready for the year!
