My student struggled with confidence in reading. Mrs. Watkins recognized his natural ability to look out for others and assigned him to be a reading helper for another student in the class. This special assignment used his talents as a springboard to grow his confidence as a reader. I will forever be grateful that she recognized his skill and had the inspiration to use it to benefit himself and others. I believe that is a sign of a teacher who loves her students, loves teaching, and works to help each student see their value and potential.
