Davis Adult Ed's ESL students are taking bold steps toward their futures.
Advanced ESL students recently completed a real-world project on job readiness, finishing with mock interviews hosted by the Utah State Board of Education’s Adult Ed team.
“I had a job interview for a promotion at work, and I was more prepared—and I got the promotion," one student said.
Thanks to our USBE partners and these amazing students for showing what growth and courage look like.

Some stories come full circle—and that’s exactly what happened at Doxey Elementary.
Zach, a former Doxey student, is now back at the school—this time as a staff member helping with recess duty. In a fun twist, he recently wore the same green T-shirt he had on in an old photo from his time as a student here.
His connection to Doxey runs even deeper. His mom, DeAnn, still teaches humanities at the school, continuing her longtime role in shaping young learners.
From student to staff member, Doxey is a place where community and connection carry across generations.

Earlier this year, second- and third-grade Spanish immersion students at Buffalo Point Elementary showcased their skills in a performance families won’t soon forget.
During their physical education prep time, students learned traditional Latin dances from a variety of countries and rehearsed two songs sung entirely in Spanish. The event, led by teachers Estephanie Maiava and Gisella Woods, brought together movement, music and language in a joyful display of global learning.

Before the school year ended, Valley View Elementary’s Student Council rolled up their sleeves for a meaningful service project.
Over two weeks, students sanded and oiled 100 wooden toy cars for Tiny Tim's Foundation for Kids, a nonprofit that has delivered more than 1.7 million handmade cars to children in more than 110 countries.
This project gave students a chance to serve others around the world.

We’re shining our School Summer Spotlight on Bountiful Elementary!
The school held a “Farewell to Beautiful Bountiful” night. A former student—now in high school—filmed a drone tribute video after earning his license through the Catalyst Center.

Over the past two years, Davis Adult Education has welcomed students from 46 countries, speaking 31 different languages, through its ESOL program.
In a recent teaching assistant prep class, some of those students helped lead and support others—bringing real-world experience and cultural diversity into the classroom.

Today we recognize Juneteenth — a day marking the end of slavery in the United States and a reminder of the ongoing work toward equity and inclusion.
We honor the significance of this day in our nation’s history.

It’s #NationalMascotDay. Our schools' mascots help build pride, energy and connection across the district.

Did you know that Whitesides Elementary has been part of the Davis School District since 1954? The school is named after its first principal, E.M. Whitesides, and has a legacy of learning, leadership and community pride.
The school was featured as the setting in the film “The Cokeville Miracle,” and is also the former elementary school of NFL safety Julian Blackmon, who now plays for the Indianapolis Colts.
From Hollywood ties to NFL dreams, Whitesides Elementary is more than just a school—it’s a place where stories begin.

A little running, a lot of spirit—and big results.
Before the school year ended, Wasatch Elementary hosted its annual Fun Run, the school’s only PTA fundraiser. Students collected donations, ran laps and helped raise more than $6,500 to support PTA-sponsored events throughout the year.
The fundraiser supports programs such as ribbon weeks, Teacher Appreciation, Field Day, Trunk or Treat, birthday bags and staff meals. Students earned tickets based on donations and laps run, then used them at the Wasatch Carnival.
It was a day full of movement, motivation and community pride. Way to go, Wasatch.

We're kicking off our school summer spotlight series with Holbrook Elementary!
One fun and unique feature at Holbrook is the beautiful mosaic that lines the 5th/6th grade halls. But did you know there's a special story behind it?
The mosaic was designed and assembled by Doxey Elementary’s very own Principal Dan Hansen while he was student teaching at Holbrook. What an incredible way to leave a lasting mark—and a beautiful connection between two of our amazing schools.
